Small Groups

“If you are wondering how to deepen your relationship with God and discover how to live as His disciple, one essential ingredient for spiritual growth is being involved in a small group ministry. Small groups come in all sorts of varieties, shapes and sizes: name them. The majority of students who have developed a lasting commitment to Christ in our youth ministry have been in a small group.

A small group can help you grow in 3 ways in your relationship with God: (1) You grow by growing with others. (2) You learn about God’s word and how to apply it to your life. (3) You share your joys and struggles and pray about the challenges you’re facing in your life. When you’re in a small group, you soon discover helpful ideas about how to love and live for God in a more meaningful way.

Whatever the topic or specific design of a small group, small groups that succeed do a few important things: (1) They meet for a specific purpose. (2) They emphasize a high commitment in order to develop relationships and consistency. (3) Whatever is said in the group stays in the group; confidences are kept, not broken. And (4) they are balanced, flexible and meet the needs of the people in the group. Getting involved in a small group will help you deepen your friendship with God and others who want to do the same. John 13: 34-35″
